Yesterday was Mother’s Day and of course we honored all the mothers present in our service. I shared a message about honoring your mother both the “how” and the “why”. The thought process that this started brought to mind something I’ve heard many people say, it goes something like this , “mothers do so many things that aren’t seen” . The more I think about this the worse it sounds. I think it should be re-worded to be “mothers do so many things that aren’t noticed”. There is a big difference between something that can’t be seen and something that isn’t noticed. The second is the responsibility of the “noticer”. So this year I’m going to do my best to notice, and to help our children notice, the many things that my wife does for our family. This can also be applied to all the other “behind the scenes” folks in our lives. All it takes is a little bit more interest in others and a little less paying attention to ourselves.
Blessings!
